The Art of Distillation: Inside Oudh&'s In-House Copper Pot Tradition

Oudh& Distillation

At Oudh&, purity begins at the source. We take pride in operating our own copper-pot distillation facility—a rarity in today's fragrance industry. Every drop of our oudh oil is steam-distilled in traditional deg-bhapka stills using wild-harvested agarwood sourced from government-approved forests in Assam and Northeast India.

Why does this matter? Traceability. Authenticity. Purity.

Each batch is registered and traceable through government-authorized permits and documentation, and is subject to routine lab analysis for quality and contamination checks. Our partnership with certified local cooperatives ensures not just ethical sourcing but also full transparency in origin and process.

Our agarwood chips are harvested under the Indian Forest Act and CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) guidelines, making them sustainable and legally compliant. According to the National Medicinal Plants Board of India, agarwood is one of the most regulated botanicals due to its value and ecological impact.

We believe that true luxury must be rooted in integrity—from forest to flask.
